MT.CRAWFORD INFORMATION AND DIRECTIONS

Last Updated: 14th May 2025

THANK YOU FOR ENTERING THE  KTM/HUSQVARNA GASGAS MT.CRAWFORD FOREST RIDE.

THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION.

MT.CRAWFORD is a forested area which motorcycle events are only allowed under ForestrySA permit and with a security bond of $2000 being put up by the promoter. That bond is to cover any damage incurred by the bikes but even that may not be the full liability the promoter could be responsible for and therefore we ask you to please follow the rules we need to apply. THANKS TO THE JUVENTUS MCC FOR ALLOWING US TO BE PART OF THEIR FOREST MOTORCYCLE DAY.

BASIC RIDING RULES: Riders MUST IDLE across the hard roads and only accelerate gently when coming on to, riding on or coming off the hard surfaces. OBEY ALL SPEED SIGNS, PLEASE TAKE THIS VERY SERIOUSLY.

EVENT: The event will be a ride for up to 6 hours on two arrowed loops.

SIGN ON: Sign on for Sunday is between 8am and 9am with a rider briefing before the days ride. Entrants must present their licences and registration details when signing on.

RIDING: Riding starts at approximately 9.30am or after rider briefing finishes.

FOOD: The Southern Barossa Men;s Shed have generously agreed to cater for this event and will be selling food  all day Sunday including breakfast. Please support this club who have gone out of their way to get you guys fed. We have given each of you a $5 credit at the food counter, this is on the backing of your event sticker which you hand over to the caterers when purchasing food, don't throw it away.

RIDING CONDITIONS: Mt.Crawford is a pine forest and we will be giving you two separate loops to ride, one short and one long. We will have a motorcycle test loop incorporated in the short loop for entrants to try out the KTM and HUSQVARNA motorcycles supplied by the Kessner Motorcycle team. The short loop is mainly on flatter ground whilst the long loop takes you on to the slopes of Mt. Pleasant and to those great views across the valley where the rest of the course is set. THE FIRST LAP WILL BE LED BY OUR SWEEPS after which the track is yours to then choose which loops you wish to ride. We will split the field into two for the first lap.

MOTORCYCLES: Only registered motorcycles or rec rego bikes are accepted into the event and riders are responsible for their roadworthy condition. We ask you to have no cut off levers, but have a working brake light and a headlight fitted. We require a number plate fixed to the rear mudguard of your bike. ForestrySA's permit requires motorcycles to be compliant. TEAR- OFF's NOT ALLOWED! All riders are expected to have strong motorcycle boots and proper riding gear!

REFUELING: Putting fuel in your bike can only be done in the pit area where in you must place your bike for the day whilst not riding. You may remove your bike from the pit area to do any repairs only after informing myself or a sweep official. NO REFUELING OUTSIDE THE PIT AREA!

SPEED LIMITS: We ask you to keep your speed on the event to a maximum 70KPH and obey all other speed, caution or stop signs. All hard surface roads must be just rolled along or idled across to stop damage.

TEST RIDING: KESSNER MOTORCYCLES will be onsite and will have test bikes from KTM AND HUSQVARNA ready for you to try out, just sign on at the Kessner shade. All of these bikes are state of the art enduro machines and you will be able to test them in the environment they were made for. A feature of our Find-N-Trax rides.

SAFETY: We have medical assistance onsite for any injuries and we ask all riders who hurt themselves to present to the medic's for attention.

All riders must put my contact number in their phone and call me if any emergency happens out on the track. GERRY 0427470007
